Hypnotherapy Uses > Exam Nerves
Under construction - but in the mean time please read some tips below, in the meantime, to help you study more efficiently.
- Do not work too late - by 11pm you have already put in five to six hours work and you will be tired. If you stay up studying til 2am or even later, you will pay for it the next day.
- Breaks from study - take a break every 40 to 45 minutes. According to the latest research, the concentration lapses after this period, and you should take a 5 to 10 minute break. If you are really under pressure and can't afford a break, start on something new. A change is as good as a rest.
- Be Active, Be Alive - keep the brain in motion. You won't learn much at this stage by sitting looking at a book. When revising those summaries, test yourself, highlight the main points, and keep working on those exam papers.
- Exhaustion - studying for long periods in these final weeks can be exhausting - and very boring. Organise your timetable with the least favourite subjects sandwiched between those you enjoy - ease yourself into the work with something you enjoy, and later when you are tired, another old favourite will keep you going.
- Co-operation - Pick your co-pilot carefully. Group study sessions are not a good idea unless you are very discriminating about who you work with. They should be highly motivated and willing to work.
- Planning - plan your work - daily, as well as weekly, timetables are now important. Your timetable should have specific targets which you tick off as you go along. The tighter the study structure the better you will feel in the days just before the exams.
