Hypnotherapy Uses > Nailbiting

It is widely considered that Nail biting is a nervous condition, meaning that a person generally starts to bite or chew their nails when they are experiencing anxiety or feeling uncomfortable in some way. Similar to thumb sucking, it usually starts during childhood and provides the child with a sense of comfort in times of stress or anxiety.

Hypnosis helps people to stop biting their nails by getting to the root cause of the anxiety which first produced the need or desire to bite one’s nails in the first place.

It is also very successful in helping people to stop biting their nails, as it is a subconscious habit, meaning people do it without even noticing they are doing it. So the decision to stop nail biting has to take place at an unconscious level.

Hypnosis can help you really change your behaviour, and make the choice to stop nail biting a real one.

We all know the difference between how it feels when we say we're going to do something and when we know we're going to do it. When you cure nail biting properly, the urge to bites your nail disappears - there simply is no struggle!
